The math

Final price = original × (1 − discount ÷ 100). A 25% discount on $89.99 saves $22.50, leaving $67.49.

Stacked discounts warning

An extra 20% off a 30% sale is not 50% off — the second discount applies to the already-reduced price, giving 44% off overall. Run the result through the calculator twice to see the true final price.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate 25% off a price?

Multiply the price by 0.75 (that is, 1 − 0.25). $80 becomes $60.

Do stacked discounts add together?

No. Each successive discount applies to the reduced price, so 30% + 20% off equals 44% off, not 50%.

Does this include sales tax?

No — tax is usually charged on the discounted price and varies by location.
